Sanjay dances with dad Vijay in Vettaikaran

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s son Sanjay is making a special appearance with dad in a song for his new film Vettaikaran, produced by AVM Balasubramaniam! Sources close to the unit confirmed that Sanjay has done a dance number with Vijay shot by cameraman Gopinath and directed by Babu Shivam in Rajahmundry. Shobhi, who excels in mass songs, choreographed it in front of an Ayyanar temple set. Those on the sets said Sanjay a chip of the old block, as he danced well to his dad’s steps and impressed everybody. The old timers on the sets says that it was coincidental that Kamal Hassan too made his debut like Sanjay, as a child artist in a film produced by AVM (Kalathur Kannamma)! The song tuned by Vijay Antony is a high energy peppy fast number with lyrics by Kapilan. Says Vijay Antony: “It is a real fast number, better than my Nakku Mukka or Aathichudi. It is the introduction song of Vijay sir and has been composed to suit his style and dance.”

Gopika’s wait as a student

Remember Gopika, the svelte beauty who graced the screens in 'Autograph', and 'Four Students'?

The actress, who has settled in Ireland following her wedding, has resumed studying, and has enrolled for a course on Sociology. Incidentally, the Mollywood beauty was studying Sociology in the Calicut University in Kozhikode when she received an offer to act.

The actress receded from the limelight immediately following her wedding to Dr Ajilesh in July 2008. She has resumed her studies in Ireland now. But this hasn’t drawn a full stop to the actress’ tinsel dreams. ‘Give me a good offer and I’ll land in India right away’ the actress is said to be her friends in the film industry.

Dasavatharam inspires Endhiran

What if Shankar has tightened the security measures making Pentagon to look like an easy place to duck out secrets, news about his forthcoming sci-fi magnum opus Endhiran are dime a dozen. While recent news suggested that the famous Danny Denzongpa will play villain in Endhiran, there is also news that a fight sequence will be the highlight of the film. Not one of those scenes with Danny and Rajini, but with two Rajinis.

As is known, Rajini plays dual role in the movie of that of a scientist and a Robot, developed by the scientist. The action hair-strand-raising sequences were filmed recently with stunt director Peter Hein choreographing the scenes. The fight is said to happen inside an enclosed glass cabinet.

Not long ago, if you might remember, one such two-some fight sequence of Kamal (Christian Fletcher) and Kamal (Shingenn Narahashi) for Dasavatharam evoked a stupendous response.

Vikram’s new big fan: Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek and Vikram, two formidable stars from Bollywood and Tamil cinema respectively, have always let their affection for each other known. Abhi, who found himself wowed by Vikram’s performance in Anniyan, has been Chiyyan’s big friend and well wisher.
The two are finally working together in Maniratnam’s bilingual 'Raavan'. Abhi plays the hero of the Hindi version, in which Vikram plays the villain. Chiyaan actually plays the hero in the Tamil version, 'Raavana'.
Vikram is said to have surprised Abhishek Bachchna in the speed in which he changes from hero to villain on the sets, when both languages are shot one after the other. "After the Tamil version is shot, I’d just change my costumes and be prepared to play the antagonist for the Hindi version. And Abhi would be amazed at how my entire personality would undergo such a tremendous change, from hero to villain, in a matter of a few minutes",explains Vikram, who calls Abhishek a challenging actor to work with.
Here’s hoping their off screen camaraderie doesn’t spill on screen, when they’re supposed to be playing rivals.
