Naan Kadavul is ready to hit the marquee on February 6th! This film has garnered enough attention already with its songs and trailer. A February release means that film is safely out of the Pongal race. The lone competitor that Naan Kadavul will now face seems to be the Sundar C starrer Perumal.
Perumal will make it to the screens on February 7th is expected to do well in all the three centers as it is said to have all the commercial elements that is expected from a film. Perumal is directed by Vincent Selva and also stars Namitha, Meenakshi alongside Sundar C.

Kamal brings back the Kuruthipunal team
Reports made it to the press a few days ago that producer Kiran Koneru had filed a petition against Kamal Haasan and UTV pictures for not offering him the rights of the Bollywood blockbuster A Wednesday. In fact Telugu actor Chakravarthy was said to have been signed up for an important role in the film. Kiran alleged that sold him the rights after they held a discussion but was shocked to hear from the newspaper reports that the rights were lapped up by Kamal Haasan.
Meanwhile, Kamal seems to have started the groundwork for the remake. There are also reports flowing in the Nasser will don the role of a terrorist in the film. It may be recalled that the Nasser-Kamal combo in Kuruthipunal where the former portrayed the role of a terrorist so beautifully was well received. Wonder if the magic will work this time too. Kamal’s get up, with a trimmed down beard, at Nagesh’s funeral could mean that he is also gearing up for the remake. Besides, it’s also learnt that ‘Thalaivan Irukkiran’ will be the remake of A Wednesday.

Shah Rukh Khan has decided to put off his shoulder surgery till his Billu Barber hits the screens. The King Khan had been advised by doctors to undergo a shoulder surgery as soon as possible. It may be recalled that Shah Rukh suffered an injury while shooting for the film Dulha Mil Gaya in December. The injury got aggravated while shooting for Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan
Billu Barber, in which SRK appears in a guest role, is a project from his home production. Tamannaah: Village belle in KIKK
Tamannaah, whose debut was at age 13 in a Hindi film, hit the limelight with the Tamil film Kedi; she became famous in Telugu films with the coming-of-age film, Happy Days. Fast rising in the South Indian film industry, her latest film now is Konchem Ishtamga, Konchem Kashtamga (Telugu) with Siddarth, Prakashraj and Ramya Krishnan.
After Happy Days, the petite teenager has been flooded with offers. Playing the role of a village belle Geetha, she is happy that her career is showing an uptrend. She says, “I was looking for a quality love story and KIKK came my way.” On her role in the film, she says, “Geeta is an understated and sober person. She has certain principles and views which she follows rigorously, a marvellous character for me.”
A very diplomatic person, Tamannaah says it is the script and not the language that matters. According to the teenager, for a film to succeed, speed of narration with emotion is very important in this fast-paced world.

Tamannah transforms for Raja-Rani
Tamannah, the girl with a angel face is said to be working hard to achieve success these days. Till date, we have seen most of the biog heroes transforming for the sake of their next movie projects. The best examples are Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Vishal, and Ajith and so on…
But now an actress has joined the bandwagon of Transforming into a hit chick for her next movie project. Wavy haired Tamannah has gone for a layered straight hair cut and has colored her hair with Brown and shining gloss. Her new look is compared to Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz. She revealed her new hairstyle to the media in Hyderabad while promoting one of her Telugu films which is going to release on February 5th, 2009.
Tamannah also disclosed that her transformation was for her Tamil movie Raja-Rani which is a remake of 2007 Hindi blockbuster “Jab we Met”. Tamannah will be featuring for a photo shoot for Raja –Rani and is excited to act in the Hindi remake opposite to Actor Bharath.

Police complaint against pretty actress
Police played spoilsport in the Bollywood star Preity Zinta’s birthday bash on Saturday night. The pretty star was celebrating her birthday when the police called upon her to turn off the blaring music. The slum dwellers near her flat had reportedly complained against Preity for turning on blaring music which started on Saturday night and continued till the wee hours on Sunday. Other stars that were present at the bash include Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan.
The locals in the area said that the police initially did not respond to their calls but turned up only after repeated pleas. They also claimed that the sound went up soon after the police left.

Kandhasamy in trouble
The film-roll comprising an important sequence in Susi Ganesan’s Vikram-starrer ‘Kandhasamy’ has been destroyed in a freak accident.
The freak accident in fact burnt beyond repair the roll that had sequences shot rather expensively at a foreign location and which featured Vikram, the lead actor.
The producer Kalaippuli Thanu however is willing to take the pain to go all the way to the same location and re-shoot the sequences. But it’s not that easy as Vikram has already trimmed down his hair for Mani Ratnam’s ‘Asokavanam’. Using a wig too has been ruled out as it wouldn’t suit the screenplay.
Vikram had reportedly asked the director Susi Ganesan so suggest a way out of the impasse.
