I was introduced to Tamil audience through ‘Rendu’. Tamil ‘Arundhathi’ made me famous among women and children. I will definitely steal youngsters attention through ‘Vettaikkaran’ said this ‘Mobila’ girl Anushka.

Shriya’s regret!

It is a well-known fact that Shriya Saran, after the blockbuster Sivaji, has bagged various prestigious projects. These projects are no ordinary ones; she is paired up with the big guns in the Tamil film industry like Vikram in Kanthaswamy, Dhanush in Kutty, Arya in Chikku Bukku, Vishal in Thoranai and Sarath Kumar in Jaggubhai.
However, the Haridwar-born svelte Shriya Saran has a small regret. She has lamented recently to a magazine that her Hollywood venture, “The Other End of the Line” was not successful in the box office. But later she reconciles to the fact that the movie will work as a visiting card for her future projects in Hollywood.

The much-awaited judgment in the Prashanth-Grihalakshmi case is finally out. The family court in Chennai today declared that the marriage between actor Prashanth and his wife Grihalakshmi as invalid on the grounds that there is enough evidence that Grihalakshmi was already married to Venugopal in the year 1998 much before she married Prashanth in the year 2005. Therefore, the marriage with the actor is not legitimate held the court.

Earlier, Prashanth had filed a case in the family court seeking divorce from Grihalakshmi and the custody of his son.

The magistrate delivered the judgment today stating that since the marriage as such is invalid, the question of divorce and custody of the baby boy does not arise and hence the boy should be handed over to the mother (Grihalakshmi), he held.

The heavy security Poes Garden woke up to a self-immolation bid today as a die-hard Rajini fan threatened to commit suicide in front of the superstar’s house. The fan, as it was learnt later, failed in his attempt to meet the star and tried immolating himself to express his desperation.

The offender was briefly at large after creating quite a flutter in the heavily security-guarded Poes Garden locality; however, he was nailed by the city police a little later. It was not immediately known what led him to this extreme step though. Police are conducting further investigations in this issue.

I won’t wear a bikini’

Here’s an actress who is firm and rooted in what she believes in. In many Bollywood and Tamil actress, from Priyanka Chopra to Namitha, Nayanthara, Anushka, Priyamani and Bipasha Basu finding it irresistible to don the bikini, a few have stayed away, clearly stating that this is not their cup of tea. One such actress has been Trisha. The actress, who has been among the pack of leading heroine s for over five years, clearly states she will not do a movie if it requires her to wear a bikini.

The same goes for Tamanna, who clearly states that she has a low threshold for glamour and cannot wear a two piece or even shares an on screen lip lock with an actor.

And now, the latest we hear this is from Genelia, the young, effervescent Bollywood girl. The Jaane Tu heroine says nothing is more important to her than her image and she can never give in to do the bikini act. If such an offer comes that I’ll have to wear it, I’d rather not do the movie, says the actress. Way to go, Girls!

He is arguably the biggest showman in the Kollywood business. Be it in Sivaji, Mudhalvan or Anniyan, Shankar’s trademark extravagance has been a highlight. In fact, such opulence and grandeur on screen has come to become the director’s trademark.

And such excesses aren’t traditionally intended to be ignored for a film in which he directs Asia’s costliest hero, the Superstar. But have budget problems affected the shooting for Endhiran?
After shifting hands from Ayngaran to Sun Network, it is believed that the entire film was rebudgeted, and plans to downsize in terms of the shooting locales were formulated. In fact, a huge portion of the film has been shot in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, including deep forests. But now, news has been trickling that Shankar had originally planned a song in his own flamboyant style for the film, with a budget of a whopping Rs 30 crores. In fact, that is how much it takes to make a big budget film today! Yet, the director wanted to do it as he had casted in his film, two of the most bankable names, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajinikanth. Their salaries together are said to have cost over Rs 30 crores in itself. Yet, word has it that the director is rethinking on shooting this song in such an elaborate manner. So far, three songs of the film have been canned, one each in Goa, Peru and Chennai. When, where and how this song will be shot is the costly question on every lip.

Kandhasamy Audio And Movie Release

The release date of 'Kandhasamy' has been postponed to June 12 from May 29. The audio launch too has been delayed, from April 26 to May 10. Vikram and Shriya Saran play the lead roles in the film.

The mega budget action entertainer by Susi Ganesan has been one of the most hyped movies in recent times. Mind-blowing action sequences and breathtaking songs shot in exotic locations will be the highlights of the film, say insiders. Vikam has sung four songs for the movie. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director.

Thought the shooting for the super hero movie is complete, the post production work, including graphics and animation, is taking longer than expected, say our sources.

Actor Vishal and his brother Vikram Reddy had been churning out best commercial films. But they were really distressed with a terrific flop show of ‘Satyam’.

In fact, even the Telugu version ‘Salute’ was a horrifying debacle. Now, they are ready to strike with ‘Thoranai’ directed by debutant Ayyappan. Like all their previous ones, even this film would be released simultaneously in Telugu titled ‘Pistha’.
